M. Wazir-ud-Din et al.

Summary: A study developed an open-source tool GCD Analyzer based on Microsoft Excel for Computerized Glow Curve Deconvolution analysis of thermoluminescence glow peak, capable of accurate analysis of glow curves and providing radiation dosimetric analysis. The tool has a unique feature of TL glow curve analysis combining discrete and continuous energy distributions for different materials, and can analyze glow curves using various physical kinetic models.

TL and EPR characteristics of SrAl2O4 phosphor prepared by solid-state reaction method

Edwar A. Canaza-Mamani et al.

Summary: The SrAl2O4 phosphor prepared by solid-state reaction method was characterized using XRD, TL, and EPR spectroscopy. The TL glow curve of the irradiated phosphor exhibited three peaks at different temperatures. The kinetics order of the TL peaks was second order with specific activation energies. EPR studies identified two different centers associated with the observed spectrum and provided insights into the defect centers involved in the TL process of SrAl2O4.

Blue Persistent Phosphor of YSiO2N:Ce3+ Developed by Codoping Sm3+ or Tm3+ Ions and Thermoluminescence Analysis of Their Trap Distributions

Yuuki Kitagawa et al.

Summary: In this study, blue persistent phosphors based on YSiO2N:Ce3+ were developed by estimating the trap depth and analyzing the trap distributions. The results demonstrate that Tm3+ and Sm3+ ions are optimal codopants to enhance the luminescence of Ce3+ in persistent phosphors.

Interface effect of Fe and Fe2O3 on the distributions of ion induced defects

Hyosim Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigates the small-scale defects created by ion irradiation in metal/oxide bilayers using PALS and TEM techniques. The results show that individual vacancies are formed at low doses and larger vacancy clusters are formed at higher doses. It is also found that the presence of a metal-oxide interface modifies the distribution of radiation-induced point defects. The study demonstrates that the passive oxide layers formed during corrosion have an impact on the distribution and accumulation of radiation-induced defects in the metal underneath.

Effects of composition and reduction conditions on persistent luminescence of SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy prepared via a solid-state reaction

Yuna Murayama et al.

Summary: In this study, the trapping mechanism in SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy phosphors was investigated by examining different preparation conditions. The results showed that oxygen vacancies induced by Sr deficiencies act as electron traps in the phosphors, and co-doping with Dy3+ ions stabilizes the traps by interacting with pre-existing oxygen vacancies. These findings provide important insights into the long-lasting luminescence mechanism of the phosphors.

New thermally stimulated emission spectrometer for the detection of ultra-shallow low-density traps

M. M. Islam et al.

Summary: Electron/hole traps play a crucial role in altering the properties of materials, and understanding their dynamics is essential in controlling optoelectronic properties. A highly sensitive thermally stimulated emission spectrometer was developed for detecting shallow traps in bandgap materials, providing a powerful tool for semiconductor research. The technique was successfully tested on Ce doped Y3Al5O12 and Ga2O3, demonstrating its capability for advanced material characterization and exciton dynamics study.

Armando Hernandez et al.

Summary: Epitaxial Ga2O3 films were grown through MOCVD with optimized growth and doping parameters, showing that electron density and conductivity are influenced by the interplay between dopant concentration, C concentration, and trapping defects in the films. Conductive films with desirable resistivity and mobility for FET and transparent FET applications in DUV technology were successfully obtained.

Light-driven permanent transition from insulator to conductor

D. Rana et al.

Summary: The study found that limited exposure to subband-gap light can permanently induce a transition from an insulator state to a conductor state in the insulating oxide Ga2O3, with a significant increase in electronic conduction, which is not suppressed by annealing up to 400 degrees C. This transition is suggested to be driven by modification in the charge state of defects induced by light excitation, causing lattice distortion around them.
