Boundary controlled irreversible port-Hamiltonian systems

Hector Ramirez et al.

Summary: Boundary controlled irreversible port-Hamiltonian systems (BC-IPHS) are defined on a 1-dimensional spatial domain, characterized by the coupling between energy storing and energy dissipating elements. By extending the definition of boundary port variables, BC-IPHS can be passive with respect to a given set of conjugated inputs and outputs, while satisfying the first and second laws of Thermodynamics as a structural property of the system.

Reviewing the geometric Hamilton-Jacobi theory concerning Jacobi and Leibniz identities

O. Esen et al.

Summary: In this survey, the classical Hamilton-Jacobi theory is reviewed from a geometric point of view. Different Hamilton-Jacobi equations are proposed for different geometric structures, depending on whether they satisfy the Jacobi and Leibniz identities simultaneously or at least one of them. The hierarchical relations between the geometric structures and their influence on dynamics through the Hamilton-Jacobi equation are presented. The survey also discusses time-dependent and dissipative physical systems, as well as the contact-evolution Hamilton-Jacobi theory and the Hamilton-Jacobi equation for conformal Hamiltonian vector fields.

A Framework of Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics. I. Role and Types of Fluctuations

Hans Christian Oettinger et al.

Summary: Understanding the fluctuations in phenomenological evolution equations with thermodynamic structure is crucial for a general framework of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics. These fluctuations provide an idealized representation of microscopic details and help evaluate dynamic material properties characterized by force-flux constitutive laws through statistical mechanics. Markov processes can be conveniently characterized by stochastic differential equations, leading to Green-Kubo-type formulas for dynamic material properties.

Discrete dynamical systems over double cross-product Lie groupoids

Ogul Esen et al.

Summary: The study establishes a geometric framework for the local analysis of discrete dynamical systems on double cross product Lie groupoids, with a focus on discrete Euler-Lagrange equations. The arguments elucidate the local discrete dynamics of a gauge groupoid and study the discrete Elroy's beanie as a physical example.

Second order Lagrangian dynamics on double cross product groups

Ogul Esen et al.

Summary: The article discusses the relationship between the iterated tangent group of a Lie group, the 2nd order tangent group, and the Lie algebra of the base Lie group, deriving the 2nd order Euler-Lagrange equations. Additionally, the 2nd order Lagrangian dynamics on the 2nd order tangent group of a double cross product group is presented in detail.

MATCHED PAIR ANALYSIS OF THE VLASOV PLASMA

Ogul Esen et al.

Summary: In this study, the Hamiltonian (Lie-Poisson) analysis of the Vlasov plasma and its kinetic moments is presented from the matched pair decomposition point of view. The systems are expressed as couplings of mutually interacting subdynamics beyond the semi-direct product theory. It is observed that one constitutive subdynamics is the compressible isentropic fluid flow, while the other is the dynamics of the kinetic moments of order >= 2.
