Nanomotor-Derived Porous Biomedical Particles from Droplet Microfluidics

Yuxiao Liu et al.

Summary: This study presents a droplet microfluidics method for continuously generating porous particles by incorporating bubble-propelled nanomotors into the system. The resulting porous microparticles exhibit excellent porosity and monodispersity, making them potentially valuable in various biomedical fields. The unique generation strategy and characteristics of the porous microparticles highlight their potential in therapeutic diagnosis, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and 3D cell culture applications.

Microfluidic synthesis of chitosan-coated magnetic alginate microparticles for controlled and sustained drug delivery

Dong Yang et al.

Summary: This study utilized a microfluidic approach to synthesize magnetic alginate microparticles and chitosan-coated magnetic alginate microparticles, achieving controlled drug release. By investigating the model drug amoxicillin, it was found that particle size affects drug release rate, while chitosan coating extended drug release time by two times.
