Middle Cenozoic micromammals from Linxia Basin, Gansu Province, China, and their implications for biostratigraphy and palaeoecology

Zhu -Ding Qiu et al.

Summary: We report micromammal assemblages from different periods of the Linxia Basin in China, including the late Oligocene to late Pliocene. These assemblages include a wide variety of species and provide important insights into the biogeographic zone in northern China. The findings contribute to the understanding of Cenozoic biostratigraphy and biochronology in central Asia. Our palaeoenvironmental analysis indicates changes in habitats, from warmer and moister to drier temperate shrub-steppe environments.
