Gold-catalyzed intermolecular hydroarylation using arylboronic acid as the reactant was reported. This carboxylic acid-directed arylation showed high regioselectivity, leading to the formation of α-aryl acrylic acids at the less electrophilic carbon in good yields. This method provides a convenient route to NSAID precursors.
A gold-catalyzed intermolecular hydroarylation involvingarylboronicacid has been disclosed. This carboxylic acid-directed arylation ishighly regioselective and occurs at the less electrophilic carbonto afford & alpha;-aryl acrylic acids in attractive yields. This protocoloffers easy access to NSAID precursors.
