REEs upgrading by post-carbonatite fluids in the Huangshui'an Mo-REE deposit, eastern Qinling Orogen (central China)

Hai-Dong She et al.

Summary: This study provides insights into the origin and enrichment of REE resources in the Huangshui'an carbonatite, suggesting that Mo enrichment is caused by contamination and assimilation of wallrocks, and post-carbonatite fluids play a significant role in REE re-enrichment.

Titanite in situ SIMS U-Pb geochronology, elemental and Nd isotopic signatures record mineralization and fluid characteristics at the Pusangguo skarn deposit, Tibet

MingJian Cao et al.

Summary: The study of titanite in the Pusangguo skarn deposit revealed magmatic and hydrothermal types, with ages consistent with the granodiorite. This suggests coeval emplacement of the granodiorite and skarn mineralization. Additionally, the retrograde hydrothermal fluids likely originated directly from the granodiorite.

LA-ICPMS, TEM and Raman study of radiation damage, fluid-induced alteration and disturbance of U-Pb and Th-Pb ages in experimentally metasomatised monazite

Bartosz Budzyn et al.

Summary: Experimental study on metasomatised monazite reveals that increasing temperature leads to evolution of monazite structure, while alteration processes induced by alkali-bearing fluid can result in recrystallization and disturbance of U-Pb and Th-Pb ages.

Genesis of carbonatite and associated U-Nb-REE mineralization at Huayangchuan, central China: Insights from mineral paragenesis, chemical and Sr-Nd-C-O isotopic compositons of calcite

Long-Gang Gao et al.

Summary: The Huayangchuan deposit in Central China is a unique carbonatite-hosted giant U-Nb-REE polymetallic deposit. Through trace elemental and isotopic analyses of calcites in the deposit, new insights into the mineralization characteristics and genesis have been revealed. The deposit may have formed through recycled marine sediments in the source, differentiation of produced carbonatitic magmas, and subsequent exsolution of U-Nb-REE-rich fluids that precipitated ore minerals.

The effect of fluid-aided modification on the Sm-Nd and Th-Pb geochronology of monazite and bastnasite: Implication for resolving complex isotopic age data in REE ore systems

Xiao-Chun Li et al.

Summary: Isotopic dating studies on the Bayan Obo REE deposit in China show that fluid-assisted modification of monazite and bastnasite results in varied Th-Pb ages, with some representing partial isotopic resetting. The study also suggests resistance of Sm-Nd isotopes but susceptibility of Th-(U)-Pb isotopes to fluid-aided modification, cautioning against younger Th-U-Pb dates in geologically complicated deposits.
