Effect of beam oscillation on intermetallic compounds and mechanical properties of steel/aluminum laser welded joint

Tian Li et al.

Summary: Beam oscillation laser technology can control the thickness, morphology and distribution of intermetallic compounds at the interface of steel/aluminum joints. Oscillation significantly reduces the thickness of the compounds, improving joint performance through mechanical bonding and metallurgical regulation.

Hybrid joining mechanism of rivet plug oscillating laser welding for dual-phase steel and magnesium alloy

Zhaoguo He et al.

Summary: A novel hybrid joining method of RPOLW was explored for joining dual-phase steel to magnesium alloy. The RPOLW joint exhibited asymmetrical double molten pool, and the load-bearing areas were divided into metallurgical joining area and riveting joining area. The metallurgical joining area, consisting of mixed-phase zone and Al-rich zone, played a crucial role in load-bearing.

In situ SEM study on tensile fractured behavior of Al/steel laser welding- brazing interface

Hongbo Xia et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of microcrack behavior on the bonding strength of Al/steel interfaces. It is observed that interfaces without or with discontinuous intermetallic compounds have low bonding strength. However, the addition of specific compounds can significantly improve the bonding strength.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of laser welding of AZ31B magnesium alloy and DP590 dual-phase steel with concave groove joint

Tao Tao et al.

Summary: A novel connection method was explored for laser welding of AZ31B magnesium alloy and DP590 dual-phase steel, where a concave groove with Sn powder was added to enhance the joint. The research revealed that as the width of the concave groove increased, the interface reaction and mechanical properties changed, resulting in a maximum load value of 1711 N.

Effect of laser-Ti foil coupling on microstructure and mechanical property of steel/aluminum fusion welding joints

Tian Li et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that increasing laser power can enhance penetration width and depth of the weld joint, as well as improve shear force. Additionally, the effect of Ti foil on joint properties is more significant at higher laser powers, aiding in the formation of new phases and improving joint performance.
