100 Hz repetition-rate 2.794 μm Cr,Er:YSGG passively Q-switched laser with Fe2+:ZnSe saturable absorber

Zhengdong Xiong et al.

Summary: A concave-convex resonator is used to enhance the energy output of Cr,Er:YSGG lasers, and a Q-switched laser using a Fe2+:ZnSe saturable absorber is demonstrated. The experimental results show that the concave-convex cavity has an output energy 2.9 times higher than the plane-parallel cavity, and the saturable absorber laser can generate high energy and multi-pulse output.

Room-temperature Fe:ZnSe laser tunable in the spectral range of 3.7-5.3 μm applied for intracavity absorption spectroscopy of CO2 isotopes, CO and N2O

Peter Fjodorow et al.

Summary: An intracavity absorption spectroscopy system based on a broadband Fe:ZnSe laser was developed, achieving sensitive detection of CO2 isotopes, CO, and N2O with low detection limits. The system's sensitivity is limited by the short pump-pulse duration, with possibilities for enhancement discussed.

Resonantly pumped Ce3+ mid-infrared lasing in selenide glass

B. Denker et al.

Summary: In a high purity Ce3+-doped selenide glass pumped by a 4.08 μm Fe:ZnSe laser, laser oscillations in the range of 5.1-5.5 μm were observed, providing the first evidence of laser action corresponding to the F-2(7/2) -> F-2(5/2) transition of Ce3+ ions.
