Self-rotating beam in the free space propagation

Kai Niu et al.

Summary: We have introduced a class of self-rotating beams that exhibit self-rotation and self-bending in the free space propagation, with controllable acceleration dynamics. Multiple self-rotating beams can be generated simultaneously using a combined diffractive optical element. The experimental results are consistent with the numerical simulations, providing new insights into the self-rotating beam and extending its potential applications in optical imaging.

Controlling cosine-Gaussian beams in linear media with quadratic external potential

Lifu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the propagation dynamics of cosine-Gaussian beams in a linear medium with quadratic external potential both analytically and numerically. We found that the propagation of CG beams evolves periodically with the potential depth and symmetry of the beam shape. At special positions, the beam shape is strongly related to the initial shape, with a specific scaling relationship between spatial intensity and spectral intensity.
