Multi-color UCNPs/CsPb(Br1-xIx) 3 for upconversion luminescence and dual-modal anticounterfeiting

Mingxing Li et al.

Summary: The multicolor upconversion luminescence properties of hybrid materials composed of CsPbX3 (X = Br/I) perovskite quantum dots and upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) are reported. This achieves stable and bright upconversion luminescence of CsPbX3 perovskite quantum dots under 980 nm excitation. By utilizing UCNPs as a physical energy transfer level, UCNPs/CsPbX3 achieves lower power density excitation compared to the nonlinear upconversion of multi-photon absorption in perovskite, meeting the demand for multi-color upconversion luminescence in optical applications. Combining UCNPs/CsPbX3 with ultraviolet curable resin (UVCR) results in excellent water and air stability, making it suitable for multicolor fluorescent ink in screen printing security labels. The conversion strategy allows the encryption and decryption of messages on the labels using UV light and a 980 nm continuous wave excitation laser as a switch, greatly enhancing forgery difficulty. These findings provide a general method to stimulate photon upconversion and improve the stability of perovskite nanocrystals, with potential applications in anti-counterfeiting.

Multiple Responsive CPL Switches in an Enantiomeric Pair of Perovskite Confined in Lanthanide MOFs

Chong Zhang et al.

Summary: Through self-assembly of chiral metal-organic frameworks and perovskite nanocrystals, a pair of crystalline enantiomeric adducts was successfully prepared, where the perovskite nanocrystals embedded into chiral MOFs exhibited photoswitchable CPL properties. Reversible CPL switches were achieved based on two chiral emission centers and their distinct characteristics under various external stimuli.

Polychromatic tunable luminescence of Eu3+ doped CsPbBr3 quantum dot glass ceramic induced by mechanical crystallization

Chengyu Lu et al.

Summary: In this work, Eu3+ doped CsPbBr3 QDs phosphate glass was successfully prepared using mechanical crystallization. The prepared QDs glass exhibits polychromatic luminescence due to the synergistic effect of red (Eu3+) and green (CsPbBr3 QDs) emissions. This study shows that the prepared Eu3+ doped QDs glass has practical application in the field of temperature sensing.

Maximized Green Photoluminescence in Tb-Based Metal-Organic Framework via Pressure-Treated Engineering

Yixuan Wang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated a pressure-treated strategy to achieve high photoluminescence performance in Tb(BTC)(H2O)(6), resulting in a significant increase in the PL quantum yield. The enhancement was attributed to the strengthened hydrogen bonds and optimized states, which effectively promoted the ligand-to-metal energy transfer process. This work opens up new possibilities for structure optimization in MOFs to improve photoluminescence performance through pressure-treated engineering.

Room temperature doping of Ln3+ in perovskite nanoparticles: a halide exchange mediated cation exchange approach

Gouranga H. Debnath et al.

Summary: This study presents a halide exchange mediated cation exchange strategy for doping trivalent lanthanide cations into cesium lead halide nanoparticles at room temperature. The method allows for sensitized Ln(3+) emission in the doped nanoparticles and provides a photophysical framework for predicting sensitization effects, removing the need for trial and error in designing nanoparticle-host combinations.

Thermally stable emission from Yb3+-doped CsPbCl3 nanocrystals

Kunyuan Xu et al.

Summary: The Yb3+-doped CsPbCl3 nanocrystals exhibit stable emission up to 400 K, thanks to the subpicosecond carrier trapping by Yb3+ dimer. However, at higher temperatures (400 K-480 K), the PL intensity decreases and irreversible loss occurs due to the formation of deep band-gap trap states and photon inactive species Cs4PbCl6. This study highlights the superior thermal stability of Yb3+ compared to exciton emission in perovskite NCs and provides insights for exploring thermally stable luminescent materials.

Enhanced Photoluminescence and Photoresponsiveness of Eu3+ Ions-Doped CsPbCl3 Perovskite Quantum Dots under High Pressure

Xiaoling Jing et al.

Summary: This study reports the unique optical and electrical properties of Eu3+-doped CsPbCl3 QDs under high pressure, showing an enhancement of the PL of Eu3+ ions up to 10.1 GPa and preserving a relatively high intensity at 22 GPa. The pressure-induced PL enhancement of Eu3+ ions is associated with the enhanced energy transfer rate from excitonic state to Eu3+ ions. The compression-induced enhancement of photoelectric performance can be attributed to decreased defect density and increased carrier mobility.
