Multi-site occupancies and luminescence properties of cyan-emitting Ca9-xNaGd2/3(PO4)7:Eu2+ phosphors for white light-emitting diodes

Liu Shihua et al.

Summary: Cyan-emitting Ca9NaGd2/3(PO4)(7):Eu2+ phosphors were synthesized via high temperature solid-state route. The phosphors exhibited a broad excitation band and intense asymmetric cyan emission. The luminescent intensity remained high at elevated temperatures. A white light-emitting diode with excellent luminescent properties was successfully fabricated.

Effectively enhanced photoluminescence of CePO4:Tb3+nanorods combined with carbon dots*

Yanyan Wang et al.

Summary: CePO4:Tb3+ nanorods were synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method and combined with carbon dots (CDs) to form CDs@CePO4:Tb3+ nanorods. The emission intensity of CDs@CePO4:Tb3+ nanorods increased about 92 times compared to CePO4:Tb3+ nanorods due to the combination with CDs. The combination of CDs and CePO4:Tb3+ nanorods was confirmed by various spectroscopic techniques, and the mechanism of luminescence enhancement was attributed to the increase in crystal field symmetry and energy transfer among CDs, Ce3+, and Tb3+ ions.

Role of localized phonon vibration in luminescence performance of Pr doped Ba(Mg0.28Zr0.16Ta0.56)O3 transparent ceramics

Zihao Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, an oxygen-assisted high temperature solid-state reaction approach was used to fabricate Pr-activated Ba(Mg0.28Zr0.16Ta0.56)O3 transparent ceramic phosphor. The lattice parameters and crystal structural information were revealed through Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction pattern. The study also investigated the luminescence properties and phonon effects of the phosphor.

Inattentional Blindness in Augmented Reality Head-Up Display-Assisted Driving

Yuwei Wang et al.

Summary: The study suggests that augmented reality head-up display technology can enhance driving safety but may also lead to inattentional blindness. High workload intensifies this relationship, highlighting the importance of considering the risk of inattentional blindness in the design of AR HUD assisted-driving systems.

Nanocomposites of CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots embedded in Gd2O3:Eu3+hollow spheres for LEDs application

Gang Wang et al.

Summary: Gd2O3:Eu3+@CsPbBr3 quantum dots (QDs) mesoporous hollow nanocomposites with good luminescent properties and high stability were fabricated. The composite consisted of hollow Gd2O3:Eu3+ spheres and CsPbBr3 QDs, and the shell-core structure was formed through mechanical stirring. The resulting composite demonstrated better photostability, thermal stability, and current stability compared to the original CsPbBr3 QDs. Moreover, it exhibited excellent yellow emission. The Gd2O3:Eu3+@CsPbBr3 QDs were directly coated on a blue LED chip, leading to the successful assembly of a w-LED device with desirable color coordinates. These promising luminescent and stable Gd2O3:Eu3+@CsPbBr3 QDs compounds are expected to find wide applications in lighting and display areas.

Preparation and properties of bifunctional Gd2O3/GQD composite nanoparticles

Chengjie Xu et al.

Summary: Nanocomposites of graphene quantum dots modified gadolinium oxide particles were synthesized and the effects of graphene quantum dots amount and gadolinium oxide particle size on the properties of nanocomposites were investigated. The synthesized particles exhibited excellent fluorescence and magnetic properties, and the fluorescence property could be optimized by varying the ratio of graphene quantum dots to gadolinium oxide. Additionally, the relaxation property of the nanocomposites was improved by the larger gadolinium oxide particles. Therefore, these nanocomposites with magnetic and fluorescence characteristics have potential applications in biological imaging, drug targeting, and in-vivo diagnostic analysis.
