Monolithic silica fiber laser operating at 585 nm

Marie-Pier Lord et al.

Summary: We present the first monolithic silica fiber laser operating in the visible range, which achieves a record output power of 147 mW for the yellow laser signal. Despite photodarkening caused by pump irradiation, we demonstrate a significant reduction in photoinduced absorption losses through a photobleaching process with visible light.

Diode pumped visible Dy3+-doped silica fiber laser: Ge-co-doping effects on lasing efficiency and photodarkening

Tomoya Okazaki et al.

Summary: The co-doping of Ge in Dy3+-doped silica fiber is shown to reduce loss, suppress photodarkening, and increase slope efficiency in visible laser oscillation. With an optimal composition, a slope efficiency of 22.0% at 582.5 nm and a maximum output power of 18.4 mW were achieved.

Direct generation of watt-level yellow Dy3+-doped fiber laser

Jinhai Zou et al.

Summary: The research team successfully demonstrated watt-level high-power yellow laser generation using Dy3+-doped ZBLAN fiber. They found that the reflectivity of the output coupler and the length of the gain fiber have significant impacts on the performance of the yellow laser, achieving a maximum efficiency of 33.6% and a maximum output power of 1.12 W. The study shows the potential of yellow Dy3+-doped ZBLAN fiber lasers in ophthalmology, astronomical exploration, and high-resolution spectroscopy applications.
