Plasmonic refractive index sensor based on the combination of rectangular and circular resonators including baffles

Summary: The study numerically designed a plasmonic refractive index sensor with high sensitivity and tunable optical feature by adding silver baffles, which significantly increased the sensor's sensitivity and figure of merit. The proposed sensor can achieve high precision detection within the refractive index increment range of 0.01. Adding silver baffles in the plasmonic sensor system generated an additional gap plasmon resonance mode that enhanced the sensitivity and figure of merit.
