0D/2D Mixed Dimensional Lead-Free Caesium Bismuth Iodide Perovskite for Solar Cell Application

Salma Maneno Masawa et al.

Summary: Bismuth-based perovskites are a potentially promising alternative to lead-free perovskites. By adjusting the ratio of trivalent ions, a mixed 0D/2D structure with lower bandgap and better absorption capacity can be formed. Solvent vapour annealing improves film morphology and enhances power conversion efficiency.

Bi5+doping improves the electrochemical properties of Ti/SnO2-Sb/PbO2 electrode and its electrocatalytic performance for phenol

Chunli Wan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of Bi metal doping on the Ti/SnO2-Sb/PbO2 anode and found that Bi5+ doping increased the active sites on the electrode surface, resulting in higher catalytic reaction activity and oxygen evolution potential. Electrocatalytic oxidation experiments demonstrated that the Ti/SnO2-Sb/Bi5+-PbO2 electrode exhibited high removal rate and apparent kinetic coefficient for phenol. Energy consumption evaluation showed that Bi5+-doped electrodes had the highest current efficiency and lowest energy consumption.

Efficient perovskite solar cells via improved carrier management

Jason J. Yoo et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells have shown great potential to disrupt the silicon solar cell market with their improved performance, yet still face limitations in light-harvesting due to charge carrier recombination. Efforts to enhance charge carrier management offer a path to increase device performance and approach the theoretical efficiency limit of PSCs.

Numerical simulation studies of Cs3Bi2I9 perovskite solar device with optimal selection of electron and hole transport layers

Md Tohidul Islam et al.

Summary: In this study, the investigation on Cs3Bi2I9 perovskite device showed that utilizing TiO2 as ETL and NiO as HTL achieved the optimal performance. Parameters such as layer band alignment, electron affinity significantly impact device performance. Modulating radiative recombination rate has minor impact on PCE, while absorber layer thickness variation has significant effect on Voc. Cs3Bi2I9 is more sensitive to defect density than ETL and HTL.
