In this work, a novel single-electrode mode alternating current electroluminescence device with epidermal potential as another stimulation electrode (EPSE-ACEL) is proposed for the simultaneous sensing and display of biological information. The EPSE-ACEL device, consisting of a composited emissive layer and a transparent electrode, can be easily attached to any position on the human body and self-powered by natural triboelectrification and static charges. It is demonstrated that the EPSE-ACEL device can be used in fingerprint display and wireless wearable display, showing promising applications in human-computer interaction, health-care monitoring, and intelligent wearable equipment.
Portable light emitting devices without the need of an external power sources have attracted a wide range of research hotspots due to their great potential for wearable displays, smart electronics and electronic skins. In this work, a novel single-electrode mode alternating current electroluminescence devices with epidermal potential as another stimulation electrode (namely EPSE-ACEL) allowing for the simultaneous sensing and display of biological information has been presented. The EPSE-ACEL device only consists of a composited emissive layer and a transparent electrode, which can be easily attached to any position on the human body and self-powered by the natural triboelectrification and the static charges on the human body. It is demonstrated that the EPSE-ACEL device can be used in fingerprint display and wireless wearable display. The EPSE-ACEL device is promising in various applications such as human-computer interaction, health-care monitoring, and intelligent wearable equipment.
