A Six-Level Time-Split Leap-Frog/Crank-Nicolson Approach for Two-Dimensional Nonlinear Time-Dependent Convection Diffusion Reaction Equation

Eric Ngondiep

Summary: This paper analyzes the stability and convergence rate of a six-level time-split Leapfrog/Crank-Nicolson method in the approximate solutions of two-dimensional nonlinear time-dependent convection-diffusion-reaction equations. The proposed algorithm greatly improves computational time due to the form of the splitting. Theoretical and numerical results show that the considered model is fast, second-order accurate in time, and fourth-order convergent in space, demonstrating the utility and efficiency of the new formulation.

Unconditional stability over long time intervals of a two-level coupled MacCormack/Crank-Nicolson method for evolutionary mixed Stokes-Darcy model

Eric Ngondiep

Summary: This paper analyzes the stability of a two-level coupled explicit MacCormack/Crank-Nicolson method for solving the nonstationary mixed Stokes-Darcy model. The proposed method combines the explicit MacCormack technique and the implicit Crank-Nicolson discretization to achieve unconditional stability and reduced computational cost for solving time dependent mixed Stokes-Darcy problems efficiently.

A novel three-level time-split MacCormack scheme for two-dimensional evolutionary linear convection-diffusion-reaction equation with source term

Eric Ngondiep

Summary: This study introduces a three-level explicit time-split MacCormack method for computing approximate solutions of two-dimensional convection-diffusion-reaction equations with source term. By splitting the problem into two pieces and applying Taylor series expansion, second order accuracy in time and fourth-order convergence in space are achieved, minimizing computational time and memory requirements. Stability and error estimates of the numerical scheme are deeply analysed under suitable time-step restrictions, with numerical evidences confirming the theoretical analysis.

A Two-Level Factored Crank-Nicolson Method for Two-Dimensional Nonstationary Advection-Diffusion Equation With Time Dependent Dispersion Coefficients and Source Terms

Eric Ngondiep

Summary: This paper discusses a two-level factored Crank-Nicolson method for an approximate solution of a two-dimensional evolutionary advection-diffusion equation with time dependent dispersion coefficients and sink/source terms. The method reduces problems in many space variables into a sequence of one-dimensional subproblems, greatly reducing computational costs and improving stability and accuracy of numerical schemes.

A fourth-order two-level factored implicit scheme for solving two-dimensional unsteady transport equation with time-dependent dispersion coefficients

Eric Ngondiep

Summary: The paper introduces a two-level factored implicit scheme for the numerical solution of a two-dimensional unsteady advection-diffusion equation with time-dependent dispersion coefficients under initial and boundary conditions. This approach is fast, efficient, unconditionally stable, second order accurate in time, spatial fourth order convergent and reduces computational cost. The stability analysis is based on L-infinity norm, while error estimates and convergence rate use L-2 norm, with a wide range of numerical evidences presented and discussed.
