Boundedness and Exponential Stabilization in a Parabolic-Elliptic Keller-Segel Model with Signal-Dependent Motilities for Local Sensing Chemotaxis

Jie Jiang

Summary: This paper considers the initial Neumann boundary value problem for a degenerate Keller-Segel model with a signal-dependent non-increasing motility function. The main focus is on the boundedness and exponential stability of the classical solution in higher dimensions. By using a Lyapunov functional and a delicate Alikakos-Moser type iteration, a time-independent upper bound of the concentration is established under the condition that the motility function decreases algebraically. The uniform-in-time boundedness of the solution is further proved by constructing an estimation involving a weighted energy. Lastly, the exponential stabilization towards the spatially homogeneous steady states is demonstrated using the Lyapunov functional. Our results improve upon those in [1] and achieve the first-time exponential stabilization.

Youshan Tao et al.

Summary: This manuscript investigates a Neumann initial-boundary value problem for a predator-prey system. By employing a strategy of parabolic regularization, the study provides global existence results and detailed information on qualitative behavior. The research involves two mutually interacting degenerate diffusion mechanisms and fundamental entropy-like structures.

An n-dimensional chemotaxis system with signal-dependent motility and generalized logistic source: global existence and asymptotic stabilization

Wenbin Lv et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the global existence of the Keller-Segel model with signal-dependent motility and general logistic term under Neumann boundary conditions in a higher-dimensional smoothly bounded domain. It is shown that the system possesses a global classical solution for certain parameter ranges, converging to a specific equilibrium under additional hypotheses.

Boundedness of Classical Solutions to a Degenerate Keller-Segel Type Model with Signal-Dependent Motilities

Kentaro Fujie et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the initial Neumann boundary value problem for a degenerate kinetic model of Keller-Segel type, focusing on the boundedness of classical solutions. The study shows that classical solutions are globally bounded in two-dimensional settings when the motility function decreases slower than an exponential speed at high signal concentrations, and boundedness is obtained in higher dimensions when the motility decreases at certain algebraical speed. The proof is based on comparison methods from previous work and a modified Alikakos-Moser type iteration, with new estimations involving weighted energies to establish the boundedness.

Comparison methods for a Keller-Segel-type model of pattern formations with density-suppressed motilities

Kentarou Fujie et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the global existence and occurrence of infinite-time blowups in a fully parabolic system in a smooth bounded domain with no-flux boundary conditions. The study proposes a comparison method to address the issue of degeneracy, which is different from the conventional energy method. It also reveals an intrinsic mechanism that prohibits finite-time degeneracy in any spatial dimension with a generic decreasing gamma function.

A fully cross-diffusive two-component evolution system: Existence and qualitative analysis via entropy-consistent thin-film-type approximation

Youshan Tao et al.

Summary: This work focuses on a two-component parabolic system with a doubly cross-diffusive interaction mechanism, which is predicted to be responsible for solitary propagating waves in pursuit-evasion systems. The manuscript constructs global solutions within a concept of weak solvability and derives a result on large-time stabilization toward homogeneous equilibria. A major challenge is designing a suitable regularization to ensure global solvability while retaining consistency with essential structural properties.

A chemotaxis predator-prey model with indirect pursuit-evasion dynamics and parabolic signal

Paulo Amorim et al.

Summary: This study analyzes a reaction-diffusion model for predator-prey interaction with both prey and predator taxis mediated by two signals. The global well-posedness of the systems is proved, along with boundedness properties using the de Giorgi method and estimates in Lebesgue spaces. Numerical simulations are also presented to illustrate the dynamical behavior.
