Sliding-Mode Synchronization Control of Complex-Valued Inertial Neural Networks With Leakage Delay and Time-Varying Delays

Runan Guo et al.

Summary: This work explores the synchronization problem of two nonidentical complex-valued inertial neural networks considering time-varying delays, leakage delay, and external disturbances. It proposes an integral sliding-mode surface suitable for the system and designs efficient sliding-mode control laws. By constructing innovative Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, the synchronization criteria are obtained in the forms of linear matrix inequality techniques.

New results of quasi-projective synchronization for fractional-order complex-valued neural networks with leakage and discrete delays

Hongyun Yan et al.

Summary: In this paper, the non-decomposition method is used to investigate the quasi-projective synchronization of fractional-order complex-valued neural networks (FOCVNNs) with leakage and discrete delays. Two new inequalities are established in the complex domain to explore the synchronization and stability of complex-valued systems. The existence and uniqueness of solution of the delayed FOCVNNs are discussed under certain conditions using the Banach fixed point theorem. A linear complex-valued controller is designed to induce quasi-projective synchronization of the delayed FOCVNNs, and novel results are obtained using the presented inequalities, the non-decomposition method, and the Lyapunov stability theory. Error bounds are estimated, and it is found that smaller error bounds can be achieved by appropriately increasing the feedback gains. Numerical examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results and the practicality of the synchronization strategy in secure communication.

Finite-time stabilization of complex-valued neural networks with proportional delays and inertial terms: A non-separation approach

Changqing Long et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the issue of finite-time stabilization of complex-valued neural networks with proportional delays and inertial terms. It directly constructs Lyapunov functions without separating the original complex-valued neural networks into two real-valued subsystems. The article introduces intermediate variables to transform the complex-valued inertial neural networks into first-order differential equation form, and establishes new criteria under the finite-time stability theory to ensure the finite-time stabilizability of the networks using a newly designed complex-valued feedback controller. An adaptive control strategy is also proposed to reduce control expenses. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the validity of the results.

Multistability analysis of delayed recurrent neural networks with a class of piecewise nonlinear activation functions

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: This paper studies the multistability of delayed recurrent neural networks (DRNNs) with a class of piecewise nonlinear activation functions. The coexistence and stability of multiple equilibrium points (EPs) of DRNNs are proved. DRNNs with the proposed activation function can have more total EPs and more locally stable EPs compared to DRNNs with sigmoidal activation functions, indicating a larger storage capacity when applied in associative memory.

Event-Triggered Exponential Stabilization for State-Based Switched Inertial Complex-Valued Neural Networks With Multiple Delays

Xiaofan Li et al.

Summary: This article investigates the exponential stabilization issue of a class of state-based switched inertial complex-valued neural networks with multiple delays through event-triggered control. The networks are transformed into real-valued neural networks and a controller with transmission sequence is designed to achieve exponential stabilization. Sufficient conditions for exponential stabilization are obtained using Lyapunov functions and inequalities, and it is proven that the Zeno phenomenon will not occur.

Uniform Stability of Complex-Valued Neural Networks of Fractional Order With Linear Impulses and Fixed Time Delays

Hui Li et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the complex-valued neural network based on CV parameters and variables, focusing on the fractional-order CVNN with linear impulses and fixed time delays. Criteria for uniform stability and existence and uniqueness of equilibrium solutions were derived using the sign function, Banach fixed point theorem, and two classes of activation functions. Three experimental simulations were presented to illustrate the correctness and effectiveness of the obtained results.

Xiaona Song et al.

Summary: A novel class of quaternion-valued memristive neural networks considering both the spatial factor and Markov jump phenomenon is proposed in this paper. The finite/fixed-time anti-synchronization is investigated, and a new F/FTAS theorem is obtained for the proposed systems by integrating algebraic inequality technologies and Lyapunov theory. The rationality, superiority, and practical value of the main results are illustrated through two examples provided in the paper.

Summary: This article addresses the exponential synchronization issue of memristor-based complex-valued neural networks with time-varying uncertainties by feedback control. The proposed algorithm not only ensures the stability of the system, but also converts the sensitivity measure of encryption and decryption into synchronization error, suitable for image protection. Simulation examples are provided to verify the efficacy of the proposed synchronization criterion and its practical application on image protection.
