Immediate Lymphatic Reconstruction for Prevention of Secondary Lymphedema: A Meta-Analysis

Magnus J. Chun et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis evaluates the outcomes of immediate lymphatic reconstruction (ILR) for the prevention of secondary lymphedema and suggests a lymphatic microsurgical preventive healing approach (LYMPHA). The results showed that ILR may facilitate lymphatic drainage, but further studies are needed to demonstrate its short-term efficacy and long-term outcomes.

Localized NIR-II laser mediated chemodynamic therapy of glioblastoma

Yuanbo Pan et al.

Summary: This article reports an in situ strategy for chemodynamic therapy (CDT) of orthotopic glioblastoma (GBM) using biomimetic CuFeSe2-LOD@Lipo-CM (CLLC) nanocatalysts. The CLLC nanocatalysts, composed of ultrasmall CuFeSe2 nanocrystals (CFS), lactate oxidase (LOD), and liposome containing GBM cell membrane proteins (Lipo-CM), can partly penetrate the disrupted blood-brain barrier (BBB) and precisely target GBM due to their excellent homologous targeting and immune escaping abilities. The LOD oxidizes intratumoral lactic acid to H2O2 and pyruvate, providing self-supplied H2O2 for CDT. The nanocatalysts can also initiate a Cu+ based Fenton-like reaction to convert H2O2 into highly harmful ·OH. This biomimetic nanocatalyst combined with LOD and NIR-II laser can achieve enhanced localized CDT, offering an alternative treatment for GBM.

Molecular engineering of AIE luminogens for NIR-II/IIb bioimaging and surgical navigation of lymph nodes

Shanliang Song et al.

Summary: This study conducted molecular engineering to design a near-infrared-II aggregation-induced emission luminogen with ultralong absorption wavelength for lymph node imaging and surgical navigation. Compared with the clinically used indocyanine green, the designed nanoparticles showed longer retention time, higher penetration depth, better signal-to-noise ratio, and greater photostability, enabling fast and accurate navigation of sentinel lymph nodes.
