Beyond a Linker: The Role of Photochemistry of Crosslinkers in the Direct Optical Patterning of Colloidal Nanocrystals

Shaoyong Lu et al.

Summary: Surface chemistry mediated direct optical patterning is an emerging strategy for integrating colloidal nanocrystals (NCs) in optoelectronic platforms. The design of photocrosslinkers, such as nitrene- and carbene-based, strongly affects the patterning capabilities and photophysical properties of NCs, especially quantum dots (QDs). Patterned QD layers with carbene-based crosslinkers maintain their photoluminescent and electroluminescent properties, leading to highly efficient and long-lasting patterned light emitting diodes (QLEDs).

Ultrahigh-resolution quantum-dot light-emitting diodes

Tingtao Meng et al.

Summary: The demonstration of high-resolution quantum-dot light-emitting diodes using transfer printing and Langmuir-Blodgett film technology has been achieved. A honeycomb-patterned layer of wide-bandgap quantum dots is embedded to reduce leakage current, and both red and green QLEDs are demonstrated. The red devices exhibit high brightness and peak external quantum efficiency.

Nondestructive Photopatterning of Heavy-Metal-Free Quantum Dots

Jeehye Yang et al.

Summary: This paper reports a nondestructive direct photopatterning method for heavy-metal-free quantum dots (QDs) using branched light-driven ligand crosslinkers (LiXers). It demonstrates the ability to create multicolored QD patterns on a micrometer scale without compromising the intrinsic optoelectronic properties of the QDs, and extends the device lifetime.
