Measurement of the anisotropy power spectrum of the radio synchrotron background

A. R. Offringa et al.

Summary: This paper presents the first targeted measurement of the power spectrum of anisotropies of the radio synchrotron background. The results show that the power of this background is higher than what can be explained by the distribution of point sources. This suggests that if the anisotropy is caused by point sources, they are likely to be numerous with low fluxes and likely clustered in a specific manner.

Refined modelling of the radio SZ signal: kinematic terms, relativistic temperature corrections, and anisotropies in the radio background

Elizabeth Lee et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the radio Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) effect caused by the cosmological radio background. The authors propose easily calculable kinematic and relativistic temperature corrections to this effect and discuss how it affects the spectrum of the radio SZ effect in different cases. By measuring the SZ signal around the radio null, constraints can be placed on the properties of the cosmological radio background, and combining it with SZ measurements from large cluster samples could help break degeneracies between different contributions.

On the detection of a cosmic dawn signal in the radio background

Saurabh Singh et al.

Summary: The astrophysics of the cosmic dawn, when star formation began, can be revealed by observing the cosmic radio background. However, recent measurements suggest that the previously reported signal is not of astrophysical origin and may be due to an anomaly in the standard cosmological models.
