Regulating the specific surface area and porous structure of carbon for high performance supercapacitors

Lihua Yan et al.

Summary: Researchers have developed a pore-regulating strategy to achieve a balance between large specific surface area (SSA) and suitable mesopore volume in porous carbon materials for improved supercapacitor performance. The integration of large SSA and abundant mesopore volume in the optimized sample resulted in high capacitance, superior rate performance, and excellent cyclic stability. This work provides new insights into the tradeoff between SSA and mesopores for high performance supercapacitors.
