Discovery of Anti-Inflammatory Triterpenoid Glucosides from the Heritiera littoralis Dryand

Xiaoqin Liang et al.

Summary: Two new triterpenoid glucosides, Heritiera A (1) and Heritiera B (2), as well as six known triterpenoid analogs (3-8), were isolated from Heritiera littoralis. Their structures were identified through comprehensive spectroscopic analyses and literature comparisons. The anti-inflammatory activity of these compounds from H. littoralis was evaluated using a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated RAW 264.7 cells model. Results showed that four triterpenoids exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activity, with compound 2 significantly inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) release at an IC50 value of 10.33 μM. These triterpenoids from H. littoralis could be potential candidates for the development of new anti-inflammatory agents.

Applanoids A-E as the First Examples of C-15/C-20 Michael Adducts in Ganoderma Triterpenoids and Their PXR Agonistic Activity

Hai-Guo Su et al.

Summary: In this study, nine new Ganoderma triterpenoids (GTs) were isolated from the medicinal fungus Ganoderma applanatum, and their structures and absolute configurations were determined. Compounds 1-8 were evaluated for their hPXR agonistic activity, and compounds 1, 2, and 4 showed dose-dependent activation of hPXR. This study further expands our knowledge of the structural diversity of GTs and provides insights for the discovery of PXR agonists from GTs.
