New Emerging Inorganic-Organic Systems for Drug-Delivery: Hydroxyapatite@Furosemide Hybrids

Marzia La Rocca et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the development of new hybrid materials, Hydroxypapatite@Furosemide, which have shown improved dissolution rates and solubility compared to the drug alone. The hybrids formation was confirmed through various measurements and spectroscopy techniques. The substitution of Sr on Ca sites in hydroxyapatite has also been shown to increase its surface area and pore volume, indicating a high drug loading capacity.
