Summary: A nanocomposite method was designed to fabricate MoS2/Co3O4 heterojunction with highly efficient photocatalytic capability for hydrogen production and organic pollutant removal. The as-fabricated nanocomposites exhibited significantly enhanced hydrogen production and contaminant removal activity. The optimized heterojunction structure and high electron transfer rate of the nanocomposite promote stable and efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and environment remediation.

Fabrication of a novel pyramidal 3D MoS2/2D PbTiO3 nanocomposites and the efficient photocatalytic removal of organic pollutants: Effects of the PbTiO3 internal electric field and S-scheme heterojunction formation

Summary: A novel MoS2/PbTiO3 composite with an S-scheme heterojunction was synthesized by an in-situ hydrothermal process, which exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance for the removal of organic pollutants. The composite achieved a significantly higher removal rate of methylene blue, tetracycline hydrochloride, and methyl green compared to pure PbTiO3 and MoS2. The improved photocatalytic performance of the composite was attributed to the extended optical response, enhanced charge separation, and formation of the S-scheme heterojunction.

Preparation of CdS-Ag2S nanocomposites by ultrasound-assisted UV photolysis treatment and its visible light photocatalysis activity

Summary: This article proposes a novel method for the synthesis of CdS-Ag2S nanocomposites from a solution of relevant ion complexes via ultrasound-assisted UV photolysis. The CdS-Ag2S nanocomposites were synthesized under UV-C irradiation through photochemical reactions. The prepared nanocomposites were analyzed for their microstructure, chemical composition, optical and electrochemical properties, and their photocatalytic activity was determined through the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) under a xenon lamp.

Experimental and theoretical calculations were used to study the interface mechanism and durability of MoS2/CdS-BS, demonstrating a universal strategy for preparing these materials. This study inspires the development of covalently connected electrocatalysts through nanoreactor engineering.

Clearance of methylene blue by CdS enhanced composite hydrogel materials

A designed experiment for CdS-AgBr photocatalyst toward methylene blue

The study utilized experimental design and analysis of variance to examine the simultaneous interaction effects of the influencing variables. Under optimal conditions, the CdS-AgBr nanocomposite achieved a removal efficiency of 98%.

Sulfur Vacancy-Mediated Electron-Hole Separation at MoS2/CdS Heterojunctions for Boosting Photocatalytic N2 Reduction

Summary: Defect engineering is an effective method for improving the photocatalytic activity of semiconductor photocatalysis. In this study, MoS2/CdS heterojunctions with abundant sulfur vacancies were synthesized and used for photocatalytic N-2 reduction. The charge transfer behaviors of the photocatalysts were characterized, and it was found that 3% Mo-2/CdS heterojunctions exhibited significantly higher NH3 production compared to pure MoS2 and pristine CdS under visible light irradiation. The reaction mechanisms and pathways were further studied.

Dual MOF-Derived MoS2/CdS Photocatalysts with Rich Sulfur Vacancies for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

Summary: In this study, a MoS2/CdS photocatalyst with MoS2 as a cocatalyst was designed using Mo-MOF and Cd-MOF as precursors. The results showed that MoS2 exhibited strong charge capture and transport ability, allowing the photo-generated electrons to be effectively transported to MoS2 through the interface. The optimized photocatalyst 1%MoS2/CdS exhibited significantly improved photocatalytic hydrogen production activity.

In-situ constructing visible light CdS/Cd-MOF photocatalyst with enhanced photodegradation of methylene blue

Comparative study of the elimination of copper, cadmium, and methylene blue from water by adsorption on the citrus Sinensis peel and its activated carbon

In this study, agricultural waste was utilized as adsorbents to remove copper, cadmium, and methylene blue from water. The physical and chemical properties of the adsorbents were investigated, and various operational parameters were examined. The findings show that the citrus Sinensis peel adsorbent demonstrated better removal performance.

Thermal decomposition in-situ preparation of gray rutile TiO2-x/Al2O3 composite and its enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic properties

Summary: A gray TiO2-x/Al2O3 hetero-structure photocatalyst with enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic properties was successfully prepared by thermal decomposition of Al2TiO5. The photocatalyst showed higher photocatalytic activity in methylene blue (MB) degradation compared to reduced TiO2, attributed to Ti-O-Al heterojunction and appropriate bulk Ti3+ ions. Notably, the TiO2-x/Al2O3 sample with 1:1 M ratio achieved 86.74% MB degradation under visible light in 180 min and retained 80.1% after three cycles, indicating its potential in water treatment.
