Exploring the Extraction Methods of Phenolic Compounds in Daylily (Hemerocallis citrina Baroni) and Its Antioxidant Activity

Zhilin Hao et al.

Summary: Daylily is a valuable plant resource with various health benefits. In this study, four extraction methods were compared for their effectiveness in extracting phenolic compounds from daylily. The ultrasonic-assisted ethanol extraction method showed the highest total phenolic content and the best antioxidant activity. A total of 26 phenolic compounds were identified, with the ultrasonic-assisted ethanol extract showing a higher abundance of phenolic compounds. These results provide theoretical support for the extraction of phenolic compounds from daylily and its application as a functional food.
