Improved Antioxidant and Mechanical Properties of Food Packaging Films Based on Chitosan/Deep Eutectic Solvent, Containing Acai-Filled Microcapsules

Summary: The development of biobased antioxidant active packaging has gained attention in the food industry. Chitosan composite films were investigated as a potential active food packaging. The addition of acai oil polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) significantly impacted the properties of the films, including thickness, water vapor permeability, crystallinity, mechanical behavior, and antioxidant properties. Films with 1-2% PECs displayed the best combination of mechanical and antioxidant properties.

Chitosan Based Materials in Cosmetic Applications: A Review

A biodegradable chitosan-based composite film reinforced by ramie fibre and lignin for food packaging

Development and evaluation of Moringa extract incorporated Chitosan/Guar gum/Poly (vinyl alcohol) active films for food packaging applications
