The significance of cherts as markers of Ocean Plate Stratigraphy and paleoenvironmental conditions: New insights from the Neoproterozoic- Cambrian Blovice accretionary wedge, Bohemian Massif

Lukas Ackerman et al.

Summary: The Blovice accretionary complex in the Bohemian Massif contains abundant chert bodies that were formed on an oceanic plate during subduction beneath the northern margin of Gondwana. The characteristics and formation processes of the cherts reveal diverse depositional environments and positions on the oceanic plate. These cherts record a complex interplay between seafloor-related volcanic and sedimentary processes, hydrothermal activity, and subduction processes.

Reconstruction of ancient volcanic complexes using magnetic signature: A case study from Cambrian andesite lava flow, Bohemian Massif

K. Kolarova et al.

Summary: The Upper Cambrian Krˇivokl'at-Rokycany Volcanic Complex was reconstructed using anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS). The study identified the feeding area of the volcanic complex, as well as the presence of andesite and rhyodacite feeders. The analysis also suggested that magnetic susceptibility increases with distance from the feeder and towards the upper part of the lava flow.

Lithium isotopic fractionation during weathering and erosion of shale

Elemental and isotopic compositions of trench-slope black shales, Bohemian Massif, with implications for oceanic and atmospheric oxygenation in early Cambrian

Jan Pasava et al.

Summary: This study analyzes a Lower Cambrian geological sequence in the Czech Republic and reveals that it was deposited under changing redox conditions over a short time span, with the basin likely controlled by tectonic subsidence and terrigenous material supply. The study also suggests that the iron isotopic signatures in the black shales are likely a result of partial oxidation of pyrite through hydrothermal fluids, rather than other processes such as iron shuttling or mixing of sources.

Lithium isotopic systematics of ore-forming fluid in the orogenic gold deposits, Jiaodong Peninsula (East China): Implications for ore-forming mechanism

Chuang Bao et al.

Summary: Rare studies on Li isotope systematics of ore-forming fluids in mesothermal deposits, especially orogenic gold deposits, were carried out on samples from the Canzhuang gold deposit in East China. Results showed significant variations in Li isotopic compositions of altered-rock and quartz-vein type gold deposits, indicating distinct ore-forming processes and fluid evolutions. This work highlights the potential for Li isotopes in quartz and pyrite to provide insights into mesothermal hydrothermal system evolution.

Lithium isotopes at gold deposits: Insights from the giant Kirkland Lake Gold Deposit, Canada

Olivier Nadeau et al.

Summary: The study of Li isotopic composition of hydrothermal alteration in the Kirkland Lake gold deposit sheds light on the genesis of the deposit, revealing that gold followed Li as colloidal particles during precipitation. It was found that the mineralization of the deposit was attributed to magmatic fluids, metamorphic fluids, and groundwaters, providing a new interpretation of the deposit formation.
