Medical Students' Professional Identity Formation During Operation Bushmaster

Summary: This study examined how medical students conceptualized the roles of military medical officers during a medical field practicum. The results showed that the practicum helped the students develop a clear understanding of the complex roles of military medical officers and gave them confidence in fulfilling these roles in the future.

Interprofessional education in the US military: harnessing simulation for team readiness

Summary: Research on military interprofessional education (MIPE) explored three aspects: 1. Culture of embracing challenges; 2. Significance of followership; and 3. Interprofessional respect built through role adoption. MIPE's teaching methods provide developmental opportunities for team members and can be extended to include a collaborative-team-focus.
