This letter presents a multibeam folded transmitarray antenna based on an improved phase matching method. A Ku-band magneto-electric dipole antenna is designed as the primary source for the proposed antenna. In addition, a Fabry-Perot metasurface with high transmission efficiency is proposed. Finally, a multibeam folded transmitarray antenna is designed, simulated, fabricated, and measured. By exciting different ports, the proposed antenna achieves a +/- 25 degrees scanning range. The impedance bandwidth is 14%, and the measured peak gain is 23.5 dBi, which means the aperture efficiency is about 17.8%. Measured results show that the proposed antenna achieves a good multibeam performance while maintaining a low profile.
