Protein profiling and classification of commercial quinoa grains by MALDI-TOF-MS and chemometrics

Weak anion-exchange mixed-mode materials to selectively extract acidic compounds by stir bar sorptive extraction from environmental waters

Summary: In this study, a novel support material based on PTFE magnet coated with WAX monolith was developed for SBSE. The material showed good stability and reusability, enabling selective extraction of acidic compounds in environmental water samples. The optimized SBSE conditions led to recoveries ranging from 37 to 75% for target compounds, with values of% matrix effect from 17 to -13% when determined by LC-MS/MS.

Summary: A novel coating based on hybrid monolith with metal-organic framework (MOF) was developed for conventional Teflon-coated magnetic stir bars. The resulting hybrid monolith was evaluated as a sorbent for stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) of estrogens from water and urine samples. The method achieved satisfactory limits of detection, recovery results, and precision values.

Summary: A temperature-responsive solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coating was prepared by in-situ atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) method, which can switch between hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties at different temperatures for selective extraction of analytes with different polarities. The coating showed different extraction amounts for polar and non-polar analytes below and above the lower critical solution temperature (LCST), and effective extraction of biomacromolecules was achieved by controlling the temperature. This approach holds great promise for SPME applications as it provides a simple strategy to prepare bifunctional coatings.
