Functional polyrotaxanes of N-alkanoylpolyethyleneimine@ a-cyclodextrin type were synthesized by acylating the polypseudorotaxane precursor, a polyethylenimine@ a-cyclodextrin inclusion complex, with excess carboxylic acid anhydrides. During the reaction, a-cyclodextrin moieties were also completely O-acylated. The introduction of acyl groups into the polyethyleneimine backbone prevented the expulsion of a-cyclodextrin rings from this backbone.
Functional polyrotaxanes of N-alkanoylpolyethyleneimine@ a-cyclodextrin type are synthesized by acylation of the polypseudorotaxane precursor, namely, a polyethylenimine@ a-cyclodextrin inclusion complex, with excess of carboxylic acid anhydrides. In the course of the processing, a-cyclo-dextrin moieties are also fully O-acylated. The introduction of acyl moieties into polyethyleneimine backbone prevents the expulsion of a-cyclodextrin rings from this backbone.
