Synthetic conditions for cobalt-doped chalcopyrites Cu1 -x/2In1 -x/2CoxSe2 were modified to induce significant ferromagnetism by adding a stage of fast temperature quenching from 1000 degrees C. Ferromagnetism was observed even at room temperature and exhibited a coercivity of up to 140 Oe.
Synthetic conditions for cobalt-doped chalcopyrites Cu1 -x/2In1 -x/2CoxSe2 were modified by adding a stage of fast temperature quenching from 1000 degrees C to cause significant ferromagnetism. Ferromagnetism persisted even at room temperature, and it was characterized by coercivity up to 140 Oe.
