Physical workload and increased frequency of musculoskeletal pain: a cohort study of employed men and women with baseline occasional pain

Summary: This study found a correlation between high levels of physical workload and increased frequency of musculoskeletal pain among both men and women. Men exposed to heavy physical workload were more likely to experience MSP, and women exposed to physically strenuous work showed similar results.

The New Environmental Health in Australia: Failure to Launch?

Gender differences and site-specific incident risks of musculoskeletal disorders among 224 506 workers in the food and beverage service industry in Taiwan: A 15-year Nationwide Population-Based Cohort Study

Summary: This 15-year population-based cohort study in Taiwan found that both male and female workers in the food and beverage service industry (FBSI) were at higher risk for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) compared to the general population. Certain sub-industrial categories and certificate types, such as food stall workers and workers with Chinese cuisine or baking licenses, were identified as being at a higher risk for MSDs. This information could be important for prioritizing MSD problems and implementing relevant policy and ergonomic improvements in the FBSI industry.
