High-Fidelity Shape Reconstruction for Electrical Impedance Tomography of Multi-Phase Conductivity via Deep Discrete Representation

Yangen Zhan et al.

Summary: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a noninvasive imaging technique with potential applications in various industries and biomedicine. However, EIT suffers from low spatial resolution due to the nonlinearity and ill-posedness of its inverse problem. In this study, a novel deep neural network based on manifold learning framework is proposed for high-fidelity shape reconstruction of multiphase conductivity. The network is implemented in a three-stage strategy, and a conductivity image normalization approach is introduced to improve the conductivity distinguishability. Numerical and experimental tests demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, with high-fidelity reconstructions and improved performance compared to baseline methods.

Optimising the use of Machine learning algorithms in electrical tomography of building Walls: Pixel oriented ensemble approach

Tomasz Rymarczyk et al.

Summary: This research presents the use of electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to identify moisture inside building walls, using various machine learning methods to generate output images. The complex pixel-oriented ensemble method (POE) is then employed to enhance the quality of reconstructions, surpassing any homogeneous methods used. This represents a significant contribution to the general state of knowledge.
