Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) as a filler in dental composite: Evaluation of micro-hardness and wear properties

Shiv Ranjan Kumar et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) on the chemical, mechanical, and wear properties of polymeric dental composites. The results showed that the addition of MTA reduced wear volume and increased micro-hardness of the dental composites. Therefore, using MTA as an alternative to expensive nanofillers in dental composites is recommended.

Physical and Mechanical Properties of Bulk-Fill, Conventional, and Flowable Resin Composites Stored Dry and Wet

Dana Jafarpour et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to determine the performance indicators of four resin composite materials under different dry and wet conditions. The results showed that the filler weight, fracture toughness, hardness, water absorption/solubility, and color change of the materials were influenced by the materials themselves, the environment, and aging. Based on these performance indicators, each material should be selected according to specific clinical needs.

Summary: The color stability of heat-polymerized acrylic resin was significantly enhanced by the addition of several nanoparticles, with nano-ZrO2 showing the lowest Delta E. A 3% concentration of nanoparticles showed lower mean Delta E than a 7% concentration. Among the beverage solutions, coffee caused the greatest color change followed by tea and cola, while water had the least impact on color stability.
