Novel amorphous iridium(III)-acetanilide porous coordinated polymer (PCPs) was successfully synthesized in 11 min by applying high energy laser-assisted one-pot synthesis technique. The structural and micro-structural features of initially produced square planar units of amorphous Ir-acetanilide-complex as well as Ir-PCPs were carefully characterized. Additionally, Ir-PCPs exhibited a relatively high BET surface area of -1678 m2 g-1, making it a strong potential candidate for CO2 capture. Moreover, the antiproliferative activities of the novel synthesized cyclometalated Ir-PCPs were tested and showed promising results.
