Organic/Inorganic n-type PVDF/Cu0.6Ni0.4 hybrid composites for thermoelectric application: A thermoelectric generator made of 8 pairs of p-leg ZnSb/Sb and n-leg β-PVDF/Cu0.6Ni0.4

Immanuel Paulraj et al.

Summary: Organic polymers have attracted attention due to their low cost, ease of processing, flexibility, and low thermal conductivity. By hybridizing PVDF with Cu0.6Ni0.4, a composite material with significantly increased conductive path and reduced thermal conductivity has been fabricated. The composite material with a specific weight ratio achieves a high zT value at 400 K. Additionally, the fabricated thermoelectric generator exhibits high power output and power density at ΔT = 27 K.

Enhanced thermoelectric performance of polycrystalline InSb1-xBix by using isoelectronic substitution on the Sb site

Vinothkumar Lourdhusamy et al.

Summary: In this study, an effective approach to simultaneously enhance the power factor and reduce the total thermal conductivity of InSb by isoelectronic doping of Bi for Sb is reported. The enhanced power factor is attributed to the increase of carrier concentration by charge transfer, while the reduced total thermal conductivity is due to the point defects.

Electronic transport of ZnSnSb2 for thermoelectric application

Veera Prabu Kannan et al.

Summary: The chalcopyrite compound zinc tin antimonide (ZnSnSb2) is a promising thermoelectric material with high electrical conductivity, non-toxicity, low cost, and abundant availability. The synthesis of ZnSnSb2 by a simple one-step Solid-State Reaction method and the characterization of its microstructural and electronic transport properties were studied.

Enhanced thermoelectric performance of band structure engineered GeSe1-xTex alloys

Summary: Nanostructured thermoelectric materials of GeSe1-xTex alloys were prepared and their structural, morphological, and thermoelectric properties were studied. With increasing Te content, the electrical resistivity, Seebeck coefficient, and carrier concentration of the alloys decreased, leading to higher power factor and improved ZT values at 708K. The decrease in band gap with Te content resulted in high carrier concentration and improved ZT, as confirmed by computational studies.
