NEt3-Triggered Synthesis of UHMWPE Using Chromium Complexes Bearing Non-innocent Iminopyridine Ligands

Giorgia Zanchin et al.

Summary: In addition to the synergy between chromium and the ligand, the nature of the aluminum activator, the presence of the additive, and the polymerization temperature play crucial roles in the polymerization of ethylene. UV-vis-NIR and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques were used to study the activation process and the influence of NEt3 on the catalytic conversion of ethylene. NEt3 interacts with the aluminum cocatalyst to affect the catalytic ion pair formation.

Urea Derivatives as Functional Molecules: Supramolecular Capsules, Supramolecular Polymers, Supramolecular Gels, Artificial Hosts, and Catalysts

Masashi Yokoya et al.

Summary: Urea, with its ability to both accept and donate hydrogen bonds, serves as an ideal structure for supramolecular synthesis. Recent developments have focused on various functions of urea derivatives, including the formation of discrete and continuous urea-urea intermolecular hydrogen bonds, as well as the development of catalytic reactions based on the molecular recognition ability of the ureido group.
