Luminescence properties of LaPO4:RE (RE = Dy3+, Eu3+, Sm3+) orthophosphate phosphor for n-UV solid-state lighting prepared by wet chemical synthesis

C. M. Nandanwar et al.

Summary: The synthesis of LaPO4:RE (RE = Dy3+, Eu3+, Sm3+) phosphors via a wet chemical method was reported. XRD characterization and photoluminescence studies were conducted. Different transitions were observed for each RE-doped phosphor under UV or visible light excitation. The results suggest their potential applications in n-UV-excited solid-state lighting.

Synthesis and Photoluminescence characterization of Sr3La(AlO)(3)(BO3)(4):Eu3+, Sm3+ Phosphor for n-UV w-LED

R. M. Yerojwar et al.

Summary: A red emitting Eu3+ doped Sr3La(AlO)(3)(BO3)(4) and Sm3+ doped Sr3La(AlO)(3)(BO3)(4) phosphors with high efficiency were synthesized and their photoluminescence properties were investigated. The morphology and chromaticity were studied using scanning electron microscopy and CIE analysis. The results showed that the phosphor had excitation ranges from 340 nm to 420 nm, with the strongest excitation located in the UV region for Eu3+ and Sm3+ doping, making it suitable for LED chips. Under n-UV light excitation, the phosphor emitted bright red light with main emission peaks at 617 nm and 602 nm, indicating excellent stability. These results highlight the importance of Sr3La(AlO)(3)(BO3)(4):Eu3+ and Sr3La(AlO)(3)(BO3)(4):Sm3+ red phosphors in white LEDs under n-UV excitation.

Synthesis and photoluminescence characteristics of Ba2Ca(PO4)4:Dy3+ phosphors for n-UV based solid-state lighting

A. N. Yerpude et al.

Summary: A series of Ba2Ca(PO4)4:Dy3+ phosphors with different concentrations were synthesized and their photoluminescence properties were investigated. The phosphors exhibited blue and yellow emission peaks under the excitation of 350 nm near ultraviolet light. Concentration quenching was observed at a Dy3+ ions concentration of 0.5 mol%. The study suggests that Ba2Ca(PO4)4:Dy3+ phosphors could be a suitable choice for solid-state lighting applications as a near ultraviolet convertible phosphor.

Synthesis and photoluminescence study of KCaPO4:Eu3+ phosphors for solid state lighting

C. M. Nandanwar et al.

Summary: A series of KCaPO4:Eu3+ phosphors were successfully synthesized using a wet chemical method, and their photoluminescence excitation and emission properties were investigated. The KCaPO4:Eu3+ phosphor showed efficient excitation at 394 nm and emitted light at 591 and 614 nm. Concentration quenching was observed at an Eu3+ ion concentration of 0.5 mol%. The results suggest that the KCaPO4:Eu3+ phosphors may be promising near-UV convertible materials for solid state lighting applications.

Luminescence properties of BiPO4:Ln (Ln = Dy3+, Tb3+ and Sm3+) orthophosphate phosphors for near-UV-based solid-state lighting

C. M. Nandanwar et al.

Summary: The BiPO4:Ln (Ln = Dy3+, Tb3+ and Sm3+) phosphors with different lanthanide ions were synthesized and their photoluminescence properties were studied. The BiPO4:Dy3+ phosphor emitted blue (481 nm) and yellow (575 nm) light under 352 nm excitation, attributed to the transitions of the Dy3+ ion. The BiPO4:Tb3+ phosphor showed efficient narrow green emission (545 nm) under 378 nm excitation due to a specific transition. The BiPO4:Sm3+ phosphor exhibited yellow, orange, and red emissions centered at 598 nm, attributed to the transition of the Sm3+ ion. The prepared phosphors exhibited high color purity based on the CIE coordinates. These findings suggest that BiPO4:Ln (Ln = Dy3+, Tb3+ and Sm3+) phosphors may have potential applications in near-UV-based solid-state lighting.
