Summary: Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder share similarities in terms of brain white matter structure abnormalities, but also have disorder-specific abnormalities. Schizophrenia patients show more extensive white matter alterations compared to bipolar disorder cases, which may be the pathophysiological basis for the clinical continuity of both disorders.

Corpus callosum anatomical changes in Alzheimer patients and the effect of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors on corpus callosum morphometry

Summary: This study investigates the changes in corpus callosum (CC) size in patients with Alzheimer's disease and the effect of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) on CC size. The results show that patients with Alzheimer's disease have a reduced CC size compared to healthy controls, and treating mild patients with either Donepezil or Rivastigmine improves CC size, with the combination therapy of Donepezil and Rivastigmine showing greater improvement in severe patients.
