Life-space mobility and healthcare costs and utilization in older men

Kerry M. Sheets et al.

Summary: The study found a significant association between life-space score and subsequent healthcare costs and utilization, with men scoring lower on life-space having higher medical costs and hospitalization risks. However, after considering various factors, the association between life-space score and total healthcare costs and hospitalization risks was no longer significant, although it remained significantly associated with skilled nursing facility stay risk.
