WReTaMo Refractory High-Entropy Alloy with High Strength at 1600 °C

Yixing Wan et al.

Summary: The WReTaMo refractory high-entropy alloy (RHEA) demonstrates high strength and resistance to high-temperature softening at 1600 degrees C, with a body-centered cubic structure and maximal compressive strength of 1140 MPa. Additionally, the alloy forms a face-centered cubic phase at temperatures above 1800 degrees C due to carbon diffusion and exhibits solid solution strengthening with dissolved carbon at temperatures above 1600 degrees C.

Recent Advances in W-Containing Refractory High-Entropy Alloys-An Overview

Shunhua Chen et al.

Summary: This review summarizes and compares over 150 W-containing refractory high-entropy alloys (RHEAs), outlining their preparation techniques, microstructure, mechanical properties, and functional properties. It elaborates and analyzes the oxidation, corrosion, irradiation, and wear resistance of W-containing RHEAs. The key issues faced by the development of W-containing RHEAs, as well as future directions for their investigation and application, are proposed and discussed. This work provides useful guidance for the development, processing, and application of W-containing RHEAs and the RHEA components.
