A hybrid artificial intelligence model to predict the color coordinates of polyester fabric dyed with madder natural dye

Morteza Vadood et al.

Summary: This study created a database by evaluating the color of polyester fabrics dyed with madder root at different dyeing conditions. Statistical analysis was conducted to analyze the relations between dyeing parameters and color coordinates, and models were established using linear regression and artificial neural network (ANN). The results showed that ANN with two, one, and two hidden layers accurately predicted the color coordinates. Additionally, a multi-objective optimization method was used to determine the dyeing parameters for achieving the desired color, and the proposed method demonstrated high efficiency in comparison with the actual dyeing parameters.

The Use of Ozone Technology for Color Stripping and Obtaining Vintage Effect on Reactive Dyed Cotton Fabrics

Riza Atav et al.

Summary: Innovative productions play a vital role in meeting customer demands. This study focused on color stripping in reactive dyed knitted cotton fabrics using ozone technology, aiming to achieve a vintage effect through fading. Results showed that the intensity of color fading is related to the duration of ozonation, with minimal changes observed after 15 minutes.

Environmentally Benign Dyeing of Polyester Fabric with Madder: Modelling by Artificial Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic Optimized by Genetic Algorithm

Aminoddin Haji et al.

Summary: In this study, polyester fabric was dyed with madder as an environmentally friendly natural dye. Experimental design and modeling were used to investigate the effects of dye concentration and liquor ratio on color strength. The best obtained artificial neural network (ANN) and fuzzy models can predict the K/S values with mean absolute percentage error of 2.52 and 3.01, respectively.
