Mechanistic Advantages of Organotin Molecular EUV Photoresists

Jonathan H. Ma et al.

Summary: This study used density functional theory to investigate the radiation exposure chemistry in organotin-oxo systems induced by extreme ultraviolet (EUV). The results revealed that tin-carbon bond cleavage can be triggered by either electron attachment or ionization, explaining the EUV sensitivity advantage of metal oxide systems. The study also found that the ionization and electron attachment reactions differ for tin atoms at different parts of the molecule, and this selectivity is determined by local coordination chemistry rather than the macro geometry of the molecule.

Triethanolamine stabilized non-alkyl Sn4Cd4 and alkyl Sn2Cd12 oxo clusters with distinct electrocatalytic activities

Di Wang et al.

Summary: Two unprecedented Sn/Cd-oxo clusters, (Sn2Sn2Cd4)-Sn-II-Cd-IV and (Sn2Cd12)-Cd-IV, have been synthesized using triethanolamine and inorganic or organic tin precursors. Comparative electrocatalytic CO2 reduction experiments demonstrate that the presence of non-alkyl and variable-valent tin centers greatly enhances the catalytic activities.

Isomerization of Na-Centered Alkyltin Keggin Clusters

Danielle C. Hutchison et al.

Summary: The Keggin cluster topology, initially discovered in tungsten polyoxometalates about a century ago, is widely represented across the periodic table. Alkyltin Keggin clusters, unique in favoring rare beta and gamma rotational isomers, show lability and ready exchange of ligands under the influence of residual water in polar solvents. Room temperature and heated solutions of beta,gamma-NaSn12 exhibit all five Keggin rotational isomers simultaneously, providing unique insight into their stabilization, isolation, and exchange.
