Development of environment-friendly magnetic nanobiocomposites and full factorial design (FFD) analysis for strontium removal from aqueous solutions

In this study, magnetic (Fe3O4) nanobiocomposite were synthesized using pectin biopolymer as a stabilizer by a co-precipitation method. The nanobiocomposites were characterized by several methods. The nanobiocomposite exhibited a particle size of 5.76 nm and a surface area of 94.651 m(2)/g. TEM and SEM results showed that the spherical nanoparticles were well dispersed in the polymer matrix. The optimal adsorption parameters were determined, and the main effects on Sr(II) removal were found to be pH and initial concentration. The maximum sorption capacities according to D-R and Langmuir isotherms were determined as 0.018 mol/g and 26.455 mg/g, respectively.
