Summary: High intensity interval training (HIIT) interventions for severe mental illness inpatients were positively perceived by key stakeholders, with beliefs that it could help patients feel relaxed, improve fitness, and provide a break from ward monotony. However, concerns regarding patient motivation, safety, and practical logistical factors were identified as barriers to successful implementation that need to be addressed in advance.
