Evolution of Interface Microstructure and Tensile Properties of AgPd30/CuNi18Zn26 Bilayer Laminated Composite Manufactured by Rolling and Annealing

Yong Wang et al.

Summary: The evolution of the interface microstructure during the manufacturing process of an AgPd30/CuNi18Zn26 bilayer laminated composite was investigated. It was found that a net atomic flow of Zn and Cu led to the formation of a superstructure in the CuNi18Zn26 layer and a diffusion layer in the AgPd30 layer. Clusters enriched in Zn and Pd were formed in the diffusion layer. Delamination occurred during tensile testing, but its degree decreased with the progress of rolling and annealing.

A computational study of the properties of low- and high-index Pd, Cu and Zn surfaces

Lara Kabalan et al.

Summary: This study utilized Density Functional Theory to investigate the structure and stability of Pd, Cu, and Zn, highlighting the mBEEF density functional as the most accurate. The study of nanoparticle structures revealed that low-index facets dominate in Pd and Cu, while only two facets were observed for Zn.
