Fabrication of Lead Free Borate Glasses Modified by Bismuth Oxide for Gamma Ray Protection Applications

Summary: In this study, bismuth borate glass samples were prepared using the melt quenching technique and their shielding ability was evaluated by measuring parameters such as mass attenuation coefficient (MAC) and transmission factor (TF). The results showed that the addition of Bi2O3 improved the shielding performance of the glass and higher energy photons were more easily able to penetrate the glass than lower energy photons.

Influence of Graphene Nano Fillers and Carbon Nano Tubes on the Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Hollow Glass Microsphere Epoxy Composites

Summary: The present work aimed to analyze the effects of carbon nano tubes and graphene nano fillers on the mechanical and thermal properties of hollow glass microsphere reinforced epoxy composites. The results showed that the composites with graphene had the highest modulus, while the impact strength of all composites decreased with an increase in the content of hollow glass microballoons. Additionally, the thermal conductivity of HGM/epoxy composites was found to be lower than other compositions.

An experimental study measuring the photon attenuation features of the P2O5-CaO-K2O-Na2O-PbO glass system

Preparation and radiation attenuation properties of ceramic ball clay enhanced with micro and nano ZnO particles

Determination of structural features of different Perovskite ceramics and investigation of ionizing radiation shielding properties

XRD analysis showed that with increasing CNNFO content, BTO crystallite size decreased while CNNFO size increased, leading to reduced porosity and enhanced grain connectivity. Optical properties revealed a decrease in band gap energy with increasing CNNFO content, and analysis of magnetic and dielectric properties indicated a significant impact of CNNFO on BTO material.

Leverage of Environmental Pollutant Crump Rubber on the Dry Sliding Wear Response of Epoxy Composites
