Long and Well-Separated TiO2 Nanowire Arrays Decorated with Au Nanoparticles for Visible-Light-Driven Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

Yicai Xing et al.

Summary: A highly efficient Au-TiO2 photoanode composed of decorated TiO2 nanowire arrays has been developed for visible-light-driven photoelectrochemical water splitting. The photocurrent of the photoanode is significantly higher than that of bare TiO2 nanowires under visible-light illumination, and it increases linearly with the length of the nanowires. These results suggest that the photoanode has great potential for future development of photoelectrochemical devices.

Tailoring Charge Separation at Meticulously Engineered Conjugated Polymer/Perovskite Quantum Dot Interface for Photocatalyzing Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization

Shuang Liang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the efficient charge separation at the interface between metal halide perovskite quantum dots and conjugated polymers, which can be used as stable photocatalysts for photoinduced atom transfer radical polymerization. The use of CP-ligated perovskite quantum dots and amphiphilic starlike block copolymer nanoreactors allows for the production of stable and controllable nanomaterials with excellent structural stabilities and charge separation characteristics. These materials have potential applications in photodetectors, sensors, and LEDs, offering improved stabilities and tunable electronic band alignments.

Tunable Nitrogen Defects on Graphitic Carbon Nitride toward the Visible-Light-Induced Reversible-Deactivation Radical Polymerization

Shiwei Han et al.

Summary: Introducing nitrogen-deficient graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3Nx) as an efficient photocatalyst, the photoinduced electron/energy transfer reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization under visible light was improved. The reaction rate and induction period of this polymerization were influenced by the amount and type of preparation tailoring agents (PTAs), which modulated the optical absorption boundary and carrier transport efficiency of g-C3Nx. When using 0.5 g of NaOH as the PTA, the monomer conversion exceeded 90%, double that catalyzed by pristine g-C3N4 under blue light irradiation, and the induction period was significantly reduced. The synthesized polymers exhibited a low dispersity and high end-group fidelity.
